How to build a 10-minute at-home beauty tech routine that actually works

The reason most people don't see results from their skincare devices isn't the device — it's the routine. Inconsistency, incorrect technique, and unrealistic timelines are responsible for most disappointments in the category. Here's a 10-minute protocol that works.

The principles first

Beauty tech devices work through biological mechanisms that require time and repetition. Red light stimulates cellular processes. EMS trains muscle tone. Vacuum massage improves circulation. None of these produce overnight results — they produce cumulative results over weeks.

That means a 10-minute routine used 4 times a week for 8 weeks will outperform an hour-long routine used twice, every time.

The morning routine (5 minutes)

Step 1 — Ice roller (60–90 seconds): Straight from the freezer, roll upward and outward across cheeks, jawline, and under-eyes. This constricts blood vessels, reduces morning puffiness, and wakes up the skin. It also helps any subsequent products absorb better by briefly tightening the skin surface.

Step 2 — Eye device (5 minutes): Apply a small amount of eye cream to the under-eye area. Run the device under each eye for 2.5 minutes per side. The combination of red light and EMS at this step targets the most visible morning concern for most people: under-eye puffiness and dark circles.

That's it for the morning. Two tools, five minutes, the highest-impact moment of the day for visible results.

The evening routine (10 minutes)

Step 1 — Cleanse (2 minutes): Clean skin is essential for any device that delivers light or current. Oils, sunscreen, and makeup all reduce the effectiveness of red light and EMS treatments.

Step 2 — Serum (30 seconds): Apply a few drops of hyaluronic acid serum to damp skin. This matters especially before using devices — hydrated skin conducts energy better and absorbs subsequent treatments more effectively.

Step 3 — LED mask or Eye device (10 minutes): For full-face anti-aging, use the LED mask for 10–15 minutes on clean skin. Alternate with the eye device on off-mask nights if you're targeting both areas. You can read, watch something, or just rest during this step.

Step 4 — Moisturizer (30 seconds): Apply immediately after treatment while skin is still receptive. This is when absorption is highest.

Adding body treatment (2x per week)

If you're using the Kinetic or Body Sculptor, add it as a separate 10-minute session — either before showering (apply body oil, treat, shower off) or after (apply oil to dry skin, treat). Thighs, abdomen, and upper arms are the most commonly targeted areas. Keep sessions to 10 minutes per area and move consistently rather than staying in one spot.

The most important rule

Don't start a routine you can't maintain. A 5-minute routine done 5 days a week beats a 30-minute routine done twice. Start smaller than you think you need to. Add from there.

Results from any of these technologies take 3–8 weeks of consistent use to appear on the surface. Don't judge them at week one.
